The Los Angeles Clippers upgraded their perimeter rotation as part of a three-way deal involving the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks. Kirk Herbstreit Ohio State Jersey . Numbers Game looks at the deal sending J.J. Redick and Jared Dudley to Los Angeles. The Clippers Get: SG J.J. Redick and SF Jared Dudley. Redick, 29, is a three-point sharpshooter who has also turned into a pretty fair perimeter defender. Shooting 39.0% on three-pointers over the course of his career, Redick was shooting at that rate prior to last seasons trade to Milwaukee, but he faded down the stretch, hitting just 31.8% from beyond the arc for the Bucks, and finishing a career-low 36.6%. Even so, Redick finished with a caeer-high 14.1 points and 3.8 assists per game, making a career-best 2.1 three-pointers per game, the fourth straight season that his made threes-per-game has increased. With the Clippers, Redick would appear to be a fine fit, with his deep shooting ability serving as a way to spread the floor for penetrating PG Chris Paul as well as bigs DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin. Reports indicate that Redick will sign a four-year, $27-million deal to join the Clippers. Jared Dudley is a 27-year-old small forward who has put together three straight decent seasons for a Suns team that hasnt been very good. In 2012-2013, Dudley averaged 10.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and a career-high 2.6 assists per game, shooting 46.8% from the field, including 39.1% on threes. Over his career, Dudley is shooting 40.5% on three-point attempts, ranking 13th among active players. Dudley has two years, at $4.25-million per, left on his contract, with a player option, at the same price, for a third year. Between Redick and Dudley, the Clippers are adding a pair of wings that have combined for 7-9 three-point attempts per game over the last three seasons. With the three-point shot ever-increasing in importance, the Clippers made a strong move to improve that aspect of their perimeter play. The Suns Get: PG Eric Bledsoe and SF Caron Butler. 23-year-old Eric Bledsoe is coming off a strong season in which he guided one of the leagues best second units and set career-highs with 8.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game, while playing 20:23 per game as Chris Pauls backup. Bledsoe didnt shoot a lot from long range, but his 39.7% from beyond the arc was a vast improvement over his first two years in the league. Since the Suns already have Goran Dragic at the point, there is some expectation that Bledsoe is going to also spend time at shooting guard in order to get him more playing time. Bledsoe will make $2.626-million this season and will be a restricted free agent at seasons end. Butler, 33, has had some good seasons, but is nearing the end of the line. He scored 10.4 points per game, the second-lowest scoring rate of his career while attempting a career-low 9.2 field goals per game, last season. He also had career-lows in rebounds (2.9), assists (1.0), steals (0.7) and minutes (24:06) per game. Heading into the final year of a contract that will pay him $8-million, Butler could play a regular role in the Suns rotation next season, but hes merely a short-term placeholder as the team builds for the future. The Suns get more athletic with Bledsoe in their lineup and he could be a part of their future, but right now hes part of a roster that is at least a few years away from being competitive. The Bucks Get: A second-round pick from both the Clippers and the Suns. While two second-round picks may not amount to much, they are a pair of assets in exchange for a player, Redick, that the Bucks werent going to keep anyway. The Dallas Stars returned to the postseason, after missing for five straight years, and appear to be a team on the rise with two of the games best under-25 forwards leading the way. Antonio Candreva Italy Jersey . Off-Season Game Plan looks at a Stars team that is trending in the right direction, but likely needs an offensive boost to take the next step. The Stars were a strong puck possession team, that made the playoffs despite below-average 5-on-5 goaltending results (more a reflection on backups than starter Kari Lehtonen) and were carried offensively by Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin, who combined for 163 points on 231 Stars goals. They were also the only Stars forwards to finish with more than 35 points, so that could be the next area on which to focus for improvement -- boosting the secondary scoring so that the weight doesnt fall so heavily upon Benn and Seguin. "I think if you want to be a contender, you have to be deep down the middle," GM Jim Nill told the Dallas Morning News. "Thats something weve talked about over and over again." Having needs is not a big deal -- every team can get better -- but the Stars are in a good position because, after last summers additions of Tyler Seguin and Valeri Nichushkin, theyve added building blocks that give the team a reason to have a positive outlook. Now, its a matter of finding the right pieces for the supporting cast so that the Stars are ready to make noise in the postseason, taking the next step to compete with the powers of the Western Conference. The TSN.ca Rating is an efficiency rating based on per-game statistics including goals and assists -- weighted for strength (ie. power play, even, shorthanded) -- Corsi, adjusted for zone starts, quality of competition and quality of teammates, hits, blocked shots, penalty differential and faceoffs. Generally, a replacement-level player is around a 60, a top six forward and top four defenceman will be around 70, stars will be over 80 and MVP candidates could go over 90. Sidney Crosby finished at the top of the 2013-2014 regular season ratings at 87.12. Salary cap information all comes from the indispensable www.capgeek.com. They landed a premier young scorer around whom they could build and Seguin responded to an increased role in Dallas by finishing fourth in the league with 84 points. Signed to a team-friendly deal for five more years? Thats icing on the cake. Seguin paired with Jamie Benn on the Stars first line and they were a formidable tandem. Only Anaheims duo of Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, with 128 points, were teammates with more points than Benn and Seguin, who had 116 last season. Benn is a model power forward complement to Seguin and at 24-years-old, is hitting his prime. Over the past four seasons, Benn has been an elite offensive performer, ranking second only to Evgeni Malkin, in points-per-60-minutes during 5-on-5 play (minimum 3000 minutes). Seguin, still in the infancy of his career, ranks 14th on that list. An undrafted free agent out of Brown University who climbed through the Central Hockey League, ECHL and AHL before reaching the NHL, Ryan Garbutt is blue collar, yet surprisingly productive. He was one of four forwards to record at least 30 points and 100 penalty minutes last season and, since arriving in the league, this grinder has been generating shots on goal like a scorer. Over the past couple seasons, Rich Peverley has been one of the lowest-percentage finishers, among players that have generated at least 200 shots, but hes generally an effective and versatile forward who can move around the lineup as needed. The primary issue for Peverley is that he collapsed during a game last season and there is the possibility that the cardiac event will prevent him from playing again. Theres a lot of uncertainty regarding Peverleys future, so the Stars will need to have some options ready if Peverley cant make it back. After his rookie season, even though he scored one goal in 24 regular season games after the Olympics, it sure appears that the Stars stole Valeri Nichushkin with the 10th pick in last summers draft. He has a huge frame and has high-end skill; its just a matter of harnessing that talent and getting the most out of it. Nichushkin spent much of the year riding shotgun with Benn and Seguin and if the Russian teenager develops quickly, that line could be unstoppable. Alex Chiasson burst out of the gate, with nine points in nine games, before points and shots on goal dried up, and his ice time declined. A 6-foot-3 winger with some skill and a solid two-way game, Chiasson was one of the unluckiest players in terms of goaltending save percentage when he was on the ice. 35-year-old winger Erik Cole is two seasons removed from a career-high 35 goals, but that seems like eons ago. His production has fallen the past couple seasons and, with one year left on his deal, Cole could be a buyout candidate. Shawn Horcoff was a spare part for much of the season, playing under 12 minutes a game from January through April, and he wasnt terribly effective when he did play, but raised his game in the playoffs and the last year of his contract pays $3-million (compared to his $5.5-million cap hit). Cody Eakin provides a solid two-way game, but may not yet score enough to capably hold down a top-six role. At the same time, hes 23, so its possible that his offensive game could continue to grow, particularly if there is a skill upgrade on his wings. Agitator Antoine Roussel is becoming even more annoying to play against because, in addition to his in-your-face style of play, hes chipping in offensively. Since 2006-2007, there is one other forward (Steve Downie, 2009-2010) who, while accumulating more than 200 penalty minutes, had more than the 29 points that Roussel contributed last season. Picked up on waivers from Pittsburgh, Dustin Jeffrey is battling for his NHL life. He has 31 points in 124 career games, and last seasons 34 games represented a career-high, but with only 9:34 average time on ice. If the Stars were to seek another scoring centre, they could try for Paul Stastny or Mikhail Grabovski in free agency but, aside from those two, might be looking to the trade route for a bigger fish like Eric Staal or Jason Spezza. Those wont come cheaply, either, but that might be the kind of move to push the Stars to a new level. Trevor Daley was handling a reduced workload for the first three quarters of the season, before he ended up playing top pair minutes down the stretch. Thats a bit of a step up from what Daley has provided normally, thoughout his career, but the 30-year-old held his own, so its not unreasonable to expect that, next season, he could pick up where he left off. While it would be easy to pin a nepotism label on Jordie Benn holding a spot with the Stars, since his brother is a franchise player, but Jordie has earned his own place, making steady improvement and he averaged more than 20 minutes of ice time per game after the Olympic break last season. On the Stars, only Brenden Dillon has more hits and blocked shots combined than Benns 240 last season. 24-year-old Kevin Connauton was a part-time player in his first NHL season and while he didnt play a big role, or stand out especially, he was effective at getting pucks to the net. There appears to be competition available for the 5-6-7 spots on the Stars blueline, so Connauton might have a chance to earn more minutes. Veteran Sergei Gonchar was something of a free agent bust, with diminishing ice time, and just four points in his last 35 (regular season plus playoff) games. He still has a year left on his contract, but it would come as no surprise if the Stars sought a team to take the 40-year-old off their hands. At his salary, it may not be easy. Aaron Rome has played 52 games for the Stars, since signing as a free agent a couple of summers ago, and he hasnt done anything to suggest hes worthy of more than a part-time role. A rising young shutdown defender, Brenden Dillon has size, toughness and improved his skating enough to get signed as a free agent out of junior. Hes come a long way since scraping into the league as an undrafted free agent and, as a restricted free agent this summer, is likely due for a health pay raise. Dillon has been among the most effective Stars defencemen over the past couple seasons and, at 23, he should continue to get better. If the Stars are going to take a step forward, they could use another top-four defenceman, effectively to make up for the departure of Stephane Robidas, who was traded to Anaheim last season. Maybe thats prospect Jamie Oleksiak, or maybe it comes via free agency, where Matt Niskanen, Anton Stralman, Tom Gilbert or Andrei Markov would be among the potential free agent upgrades. Even with outstanding size, hes not very physical and has been relatively mediocre in 23 career NHL games, but a 21-year-old with his size and mobility should have a good chance at success. A 6-foot-4 power forward Brett Ritchie finished the regular season strong, with 16 points in his last 16 games before suffering a lower-body injury. Hes recently returned to the lineup for the AHL playoffs, and while Ritchie could start in the AHL next season, his upward trajectory should have him knocking on the door. Overhyped since he was picked 11th overall in 2010, Jack Campbell has struggled to perform at a high level consistently enough to know if hes going to make it to the NHL. While he missed a bunch of time with injuries this year, it is promising that he had a .942 save percentage in 16 AHL games. The 22-year-old could likely use another year of seasoning to show that he is ready. Drafted in the fourth round in 2007, Colton Sceviour has steadily improved to the point that hes on the cusp of the Dallas roster. He scored nine goals and 15 points in in 32 (regular season plsu playoff) games with Dallas, performing effectively in his first legitimate NHL look. A second-round pick in 2012, Devin Shore had a terrific sophomore season at Maine and his offensive upside puts him above some of the other Stars prospects. If Shore has a big junior season, as the Black Bears captain, he may be ready to turn pro. Picked in the fifth round in 2010, John Klingberg is a smooth-skating offensive defenceman who is coming off a strong season in the Swedish Hockey League. The 21-year-old should be ready to challenge for an NHL job quickly. Jason Dickinson is a skileld centre who was the 29th pick in last summers draft. Hes enjoyed a strong season on powerhouse Guelph team, scoring 102 points in 88 (regular season plus playoff) games. Hell need time to fill out, and get stronger, but he will be intriguing a couple years down the road. The 13th pick in 2012, Radek Faksa hasnt put up big scoring numbers, which limits his upside, but he has the size and conscientious play to make it in a checking role. Taken in the second round in 2010, Patrik Nemeth is a big, stay-at-home defenceman, and while he battled injuries last season, he struggled in eight games with Dallas; perhaps an indication that more time on the farm is needed. A third-round pick in 2010, Alex Guptill had 94 points in 110 games over three seasons athe University of Michigan, and now embarks on his pro career. He has size and offensive ability, but will need some time in the AHL as he gets accustomed to a pro schedule. Drafted in the second round last summer, Philippe Desrosiers is a promising, athletic goalie, but its goign to be years before its reasonable to have any expectations on his pro prospects. So far, so good. Curtis McKenzie was a sixth-round pick in 2009 and had four unremarkable seasons at Miami-Ohio, but had a superb first pro campaign, finishing second on the Stars AHL team in scoring. The Hawks defence staggered the Pacers with some late stops. Now Atlanta is heading home with a chance to deliver the knockout punch to the Eastern Conferences top seed. Scott scored all 17 of his points during the Hawks incredible second-quarter run, and the defence fended off the Pacers frantic fourth-quarter charge to hold on for a 107-97 victory and a stunning 3-2 lead in the first-round series. "We can play with this team," Scott said. "Theyre a great team, especially at home, great players, great coach, but we have a belief in ourselves as well." Why not? All the Hawks have to do is protect their home court and they will reach the second round for the first time since 2011, and throw the East into disarray after the talk all season was about an Indiana-Miami rematch in the conference finals. That looks like a long shot now. The Pacers havent won consecutive games with their regular starters in the lineup since mid-March and the leagues best regular-season home team (35-6) has inexplicably given away home court advantage to the Hawks -- twice. Theyre making it look easy, too. Atlanta shredded one of the leagues top defences during a remarkable second quarter, making 13 of 16 shots overall and 9 of 11 from beyond the arc. Scott made all five of his 3s during the decisive 30-6 run, which actually started with the final basket of the first quarter, to turn a 21-18 deficit into a 48-27 lead. Indiana never recovered. Atlanta outscored the Pacers 41-19 during that 12-minute stretch, matching the second-highest second-quarter scoring total in the franchises post-season history. The Hawks scored 41 against Detroit on March 17, 1986, and the St. Louis Hawks had 45 against Fort Wayne on March 14, 1957. Indiana, meanwhile, allowed a second-quarter franchise record, breaking the previous mark of 39 points set by Boston on April 23, 2005. The Hawks joined the 1970 Milwaukee Bucks as the only road teams in the shot-clock era to score at least 40 points in a quarter and give up fewer than 19. Not enough? Atlanta tied an NBA record with 9 3-pointers, most recently done in 2008, and also broke the franchise playoff record for 3s in a game with 15. The previous mark was 12. "I didnt even know," Kyle Korver said after making two 3s in the second quarter and another late in the game to keeep the Hawks in control. Giorgio Chiellini Jersey. . "Mike got hot. I dont know how many 3s he hit in that quarter. Mike hadnt shot the ball as well as he did tonight, but he hasnt shot that well all series." Shelvin Mack led the Hawks with 20 points, while Paul Millsap had 18. The Pacers, meanwhile, endured yet another bleak chapter in a second-half collapse that could go down as the worst in NBA history -- if they lose either of the next two games. And it was downright dismal. Roy Hibbert finished without a point or a rebound for the first time in his playoff career. Indiana was outrebounded for the first time in the series and its rebuilt bench was outscored 45-23. Paul George led the Pacers with 26 points and 12 rebounds. George Hill, Lance Stephenson and David West all had 16 points, not quite enough to rally on a night they were again serenaded with boos in the first half. "It was frustrating because we didnt make a change," George said of the Pacers defence. "We let them run the same action, the same shot. We didnt do nothing. So that was frustrating." The game changed in a hurry. Atlanta opened the second quarter with a free throw from Mack to tie the score at 21. Scott then made four consecutive 3s to push the lead to 33-21. Mack followed that with a midrange jumper, Korver made a 3, Scott scored on a putback and Korver hit his second 3. Mack followed that with two free throws and Scott closed the run with his last 3 of the game to make it 48-27. The Pacers still trailed 61-40 at halftime and by as many as 30 points in the third quarter before the frantic comeback. Indiana cut the deficit to 85-67 late in the third and with the crowd urging them on, the Pacers made it 96-87 on C.J. Watsons layup with 4:04 to go. But Korver answered with a 3 and the Hawks closed it out at the free throw line. "We dont do much for moral victories, we just dropped the ball," West said. "Everybodys got to be ready to play and I didnt think we responded well enough." Notes: The Pacers had a moment of silence to honour former coach Jack Ramsay, who died Monday at age 89. Ramsay led the Pacers to the first NBA playoff win in franchise history. ... MILWAUKEE -- Aaron Hill is comfortable at Miller Park. Jerseys China Cheap Authentic . A night after going 4 for 4 with a pair of RBI singles, Hill hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning Tuesday to rally the Arizona Diamondbacks past the Milwaukee Brewers 7-5. "Hes a really good hitter. I know he kills us," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. "We make mistakes to him, but hes patient. He fights off tough pitches and he doesnt miss mistakes. At least against us he doesnt." Hill is batting .472 (17 for 36) with four home runs and 11 RBIs in eight career games at Miller Park. Hills home run Tuesday came after Miguel Montero had a tying single. Evan Marshall (1-0) pitched 1 1-3 innings of scoreless relief in his major league debut for the victory. "Evan Marshall was electric in his first big league appearance," Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said. "He had a little cheering section out there. His parents and his wife were here. He came in and threw the ball like we were told he was throwing the ball down in Triple-A. It was much needed for us." Addison Reed pitched a scoreless ninth inning to record his ninth save in 10 opportunities. Paul Goldschmidt and Chris Owings also homered for Arizona, which has won five of its last seven games on the road. Brandon Kintzler (1-1) gave up the three runs in the eighth. "I feel terrible for letting the team down in that situation," Kintzler said. Goldschmidt hit a two-run homer in the first inning off Milwaukee starter Marco Estrada. The Brewers scored for five runs in the bottom half off Josh Collmenter. "The first inning was not well-played at all," Gibson said. "We gave up four unearned runs. But true to (Collmenters) form, he hung in there. Hes great at keeping his composure." Collmenter gave up just four singles after the first. He departed in the sixth after consecutive two-out singles to Logan Schafer and pinch-hitter Rickie Weeks. Marshall came on to record the final out of the inning. Collmenter gave up five runs -- one earned -- and eight hits in 5 2-3 innings. He struck out three and walked one. "I just wanted to give the team a chance to win to try and keep us in it long enough," Collmenter said. "When you get a comeback win like this, its huge for the club." The Diamondbacks entered the eighth trailing by a run. But Goldschmidt hustled for a double and scored on Monteros single. Hill then hit a drive over the left-centre field fence. Goldschmidts first-inning homer came immediately after Arizona challenged a call in which leadoff hitter Gerardo Parra, who had singled, was ruled out at first base on a pickoff. The call was overturned by review. Lyle Overbay had an RBI single, Ownings two-out throwing error allowed another run to score, Jean Segura followed with a run-scoring single and Schafer capped the big inning with a two-run double. Both pitchers settled down after that. Estrada retired 11 of the next 12 batters following Goldschmidts home run before issuing a walk to A.J. Pollock leading of the fifth. Pollack later scored on Collmenters ground out, cutting the lead to 5-3. Owings hit his first big league homer leading off the sixth. "Obviously it feels good. It makes it even more special that we got a win out of it," Owings said. Estrada yielded four runs and four hits over six innings. He struck out four and walked two. NOTES: The Diamondbacks placed reliever J.J. Putz on the 15-day DL with right forearm tightness and optioned pitcher Mike Bolsinger to Triple-A Reno. The team called up Marshall from Reno and Chase Anderson from Double-A Mobile. .The Brewers lost for the first time this season (19 games) when scoring four or more runs. ... Wily Peralta (4-1) will take the mound for Milwaukee against Arizonas Bronson Arroyo (2-2) in the three-game series finale on Wednesday. Cheap Jerseys China . Alfredo Simon lowered his ERA to 0.86, and the Reds beat the Chicago Cubs 4-1 Friday for their 16th win in their last 17 games at the Friendly Confines. Wholesale NFL Jerseys . -- Houston Rockets coach Kevin McHale searched more than three quarters for five guys who would play well together. There is always something special in my mind when we get to see regional World Series match-ups or even better, two teams from the same city. We havent had that kind of a showdown since 2000 when the Yankees beat the Mets in five games in a World Series that pitted the Bronx against Queens in the battle of New York. This year though, there are plenty of great possibilities now that were down to the final 10 clubs. The cities of Washington and Baltimore have a great rivalry, though they only ever meet in inter-league play. The Orioles have been in the World Series six times, but not since 1983, and have won three and lost three. Washington has been to the Fall Classic three times, but not since their original incarnation. They won in 1924 over the New York Giants, lost in 1925 to Pittsburgh and then lost again in 1933 to the Giants. Next to the Cubs, Washington has the longest World Series famine. If a Beltway series doesnt do it for you, how about Kansas City against St. Louis in a rematch of the I-95 series of 1985. The Royals won their one and only World Series title that year beating the Cardinals in seven games. Dick Howsers crew also became the first team to win the ALCS and the World Series when rallying from a 3-1 deficit. They beat the Blue Jays in the American League Championship series. Bay area rivals Oakland and San Francisco met in the infamous Earthquake series of 1989. Roughly half an hour before Game 3 was to begin at San Francisco, the Loma Prieta quake as it was known struck. The damage was such that the series wasnt resumed for 10 days with the As ultimately winning it in four straight. Dave Stewart of the As won Games 1 and 3 and last week 25 years later, was named general manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks, working with then-As manager Tony La Russa. That was the first cross-town series involving two teams from the same metropolitan area since 1956, when the Yankees played the Brooklyn Dodgers. Not only that but it was just the third not involving a New York team. The Dodgers and As - while not exactly next door neighbours - are still West Coast rivals. Theyve met twice in the World Series. Oakland won in 1974 to cap its three-peat run and the Dodgers pulled off what was considered a sizable upset in 1988, the year of Kirk Gibsons incredible game-winning pinch hit homer off Dennis Eckersley. The Dodgers havent been back to the Fall Classic ssince. Cheap NFL Jerseys China. There are other potential match-ups that have lots of history attached including Tigers-Cardinals and Pirates-Orioles. But the one Im hoping for has never happened before. That would be the Angels versus the Dodgers. Trout vs. Puig, Kershaw vs. Weaver, Mattingly vs. Scioscia, and on and on it goes. Wild Card watch The American League Wild Card game goes Tuesday night with Oakland at Kansas City. Sixteen-game winning lefty Jon Lester will be on the hill for the As against righty James Shields, who won 14 for the Royals. The winner will open an ALDS series Thursday at Anaheim against the Angels, while Detroit opens at Baltimore the same day. The National League Wild Card game goes Wednesday night at Pittsburgh with the Pirates hosting the Giants. Edinson Volquez (13-7) will face San Franciscos ace Madison Bumgarner (18-10). The winner will play at Washington Friday, while the Cardinals take on the Dodgers Friday at Chavez Ravine in the other NLDS. For whatever its worth, I like the Royals to beat the As simply because they are at home and the Giants to beat the Pirates because of Bamgarner, who is also one of the better hitting pitchers in the National League. Canadian Content It was great to see Canadian Justin Morneau of the Rockies win the National League batting title with a .319 average. But I do wish he had done more than just pinch-hit once over the final two games. Nationals No-No It was as exciting as it was unexpected to see the Nationals Jordan Zimmermann pitch that no-hitter at home on the final day of the season on Sunday, blanking Miami 1-0. It was the fifth no-no in history to end a season and first no-hitter in Washington since Bobby Burke did the honours back in 1931. You might have thought though that skipper Matt Williams, with the post-season looming, would have pulled Zimmermann after five or six innings. But as fate would have it, Zimmermann took a liner off his pitching shoulder and suffered a bruise in his previous start. In this start against Miami, working on seven days rest, Williams decided to let Zimmermann go for it, and thanks to that incredible circus catch by Steve Souza Jr. in left centre in the ninth to end the game, the current edition of the Washington Nationals picked up the first no-hitter in this franchises history. That leaves San Diego as the only team without a no-hitter. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From ChinaCheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '

ST. Cheap NFL Jerseys China . LOUIS -- When it comes to being a hitter, St. Louis rookie Michael Wacha would rather talk about his pitching. Wacha threw seven innings and drove in two runs with a single, helping the Cardinals to a 5-3 victory Thursday over the Chicago Cubs. The 6-foot-6 Wacha (3-3) had lost his last three decisions since an April 13 win over the Cubs. The 22-year-old right-hander allowed seven hits, including a homer, but did not walk a batter. He struck out five. "I was able to pound the strike zone down in the zone and it was pretty effective," Wacha said. "I kept them off-balance, which means its a pretty good day. Its definitely nice to go deep into a ballgame and get a win. It definitely gets your confidence going in the next start thats for sure." Trevor Rosenthal pitched 1 2-3 innings for his 11th save. Rosenthal, who blew a save Tuesday, inherited a one-out, bases-loaded situation and gave up a sacrifice fly, but closed out the inning and retired the side in the ninth. The Cubs have lost nine of their last 11 and are off to the worst start in 39 games (13-26) since 2002. Jason Hammel (4-2) gave up five runs on five hits and two walks in 5 1-3 innings, raising his ERA to 3.06. Hammel had six strikeouts. St. Louis scored four runs in the second inning on Wachas two-run single in between a run-scoring groundout by Yadier Molina and Matt Carpenters RBI double. It was Wachas first hit and RBIs of the season. "Its nice to finally have a batting average," Wacha said. St. Louis manager Mike Matheny noted it was a timely hit. "Mike was good and obviously getting that hit there to drive in a couple runs it was kind of a huge boost to us at that point," Matheny said. With two outs, Hammel might have escaped with little damage but he had to throw a strike on a 3-2 count to Wacha and the bases loaded. "I got behind Wacha with two wild ones," Hammel said. "I came in with a fastball and he hit it." Chicago got two runs back in the fourth on a home run just inside the left-field foul pole by Starlin Castro. He drove in No. 3 hitter Anthony Rizzo, who beat the St. Louis shift to the right side with his second bunt to the left side in two at-bats. Rizzo has three career bunt singles with the Cubs with one coming in his previous 285 games. "If theyre going to give me that, I might as well take it," Rizzo said. "We were able to cash in once. I almost make them pay twice for it. Wacha is a great pitcher but you get him on the stretch and try to get him off his game a little bit. "You know if teams are going to give me that, for the most part, Im going to take it every time." When Rizzo came to bat in the fifth and seventh, St. Louis did not shift. "Rizzo took advantage of the shift until they changed their defence on him," Chicago manager Rick Renteria said. "That led to our first two runs when Starlin drove the ball out of the ballpark. Hes really looking at the game from a lot of different angles. Think about it, youre down four runs and a solo home run is not going to do a whole lot for you." The Cardinals made it 5-2 when Molina lined a 3-2 pitch just inside the line in left for a one-out RBI single. Junior Lake hit a sacrifice fly for a run in the eighth, but Rosenthal got out the jam. St. Louis lost a challenge in the third when Matt Holliday was called out on a close play at first after hitting a grounder to shortstop. The time of the review was 2 minutes, 54 seconds. NOTES: Missouris new basketball coach Kim Anderson threw out the first pitch. "It was an honour to throw the first ball out," he said. "I was nervous out there, but its something I will never forget." ... The Cardinals announced the time for making up Wednesdays game with the Cubs that was rained out. It will be played at 1:15 p.m. Aug. 30 as part of a split doubleheader. The second game will start at 7:15 p.m. instead of 6:15 p.m. ... The Cardinals recalled 2B Kolten Wong on Wednesday from Triple-A Memphis and optioned infielder Greg Garcia back to the club. Wong was optioned April 27 after hitting .225 in 20 games. He hit .344 in 10 games at Memphis. He was not in the starting lineup as he was still battling the effects of a stomach virus. Cheap NFL Jerseys . "I sat in my room the rest of the day, I didnt leave the room," DeRozan said. "I didnt turn the TV on. I didnt watch any games. I just cleared my mind. Just understand it was my first playoff game." He fought the urge to go back to the Air Canada Centre for a late-night shooting session. "I thought about it. I really thought about it," DeRozan said. "About 1 a.m. I was going to come back, but I was like: dont put too much pressure on myself. Just get my rest, regroup. Weve got two days until we play, so just get ready. I try not to think so much or stress myself out — just relax." The 24-year-old all-star scored 14 points — well below his season average of 22.7 — in the Raptors 94-87 loss to the Brooklyn Nets in Saturdays Game 1 of the best-of-seven playoff series. The player whose hot hand led the Raptors in their record run to the post-season went cold Saturday. DeRozan, who was the picture of post-season confidence earlier in the week, scoffing that the playoffs werent "rocket science," shot just 3-for-13 from the field. He missed all four of his three-point attempts. He insisted he wasnt nervous. "I think with as much energy was going on, it felt like things were going faster than they were," DeRozan said. While it wasnt the coming-out party any of Torontos playoff rookies had hoped for, they were all breathing a little easier Sunday morning, glad that Game 1 of their series was over and done with. "I think Game 2 is a whole different animal," coach Dwane Casey said. "I think the newness and the shiny part of the playoffs is worn off by Game 2. I think thatll help (DeRozan) tremendously. I think thatll help our whole team." Kyle Lowry, one of the few Raptors who looked unfazed by the playoff pressure in his 22-point performance, agreed. "I think the bright lights will dim a little bit for everyone, everything will calm down a little bit," Lowry said. "I think that first game is always tough at home, because of the excitement, and we have a bunch of young guys. But now its over. Now guys are ready to move on, now were ready to go." Game 2 is Tuesday in Toronto, then the series shifts to Brooklyn for Game 3 on Friday. The series was heated before it even began after the Nets seemingly tanked to fall to sixth-place, preferring to play the inexperienced Raptors. Toronto GM Masai Ujiri then threw gasoline onto the fire Saturday when he dropped an F-bomb when addressing the crowd in Maple Leaf Square, pairing the F-word with Brooklyn. New Yorks tabloid newspapers fought back. The headline on Sundays New York Daily News read: "Dont F*** With Brooklyn! Nets give foul-mouthed Raptors a spanking to take Game 1." The New York Posts front page was a picture of a grinning Paul Pierce with the headline: "After Toronto GM insults Bklyn, Nets shut up Raptors. F#@K YEAH!" The Raptors had put Saturdays drama behind them by Sundays practice at the Air Canada Centre. Cheap Jerseys Wholesale. "This is about basketball," Casey said. "All that stuff has happened. Were very supportive of whatever Masai said. This is about basketball. I will say this, I thought our fans were fantastic (Saturday). They were great. Ive been in championship arenas, championship games, and this is as big-time as can be. "All the other stuff, what was said, its about basketball. Its about screening. Its about finishing plays. Its about executing defensively. I dont want to get off on another tangent." As for DeRozans less-than-impressive debut, Casey said he thought both DeRozan and Terrence Ross — also making his playoff debut — looked frustrated after they got in early foul trouble Saturday. Ross had just three points on the afternoon. "Young guys have to be somewhere learning to play in the NBA playoffs and this is a great start for (Ross), its a great start for DeMar," Casey said. "Theres no way Im disappointed in their performance. Their point-productivity, yes. But this is a great positive for our organization." DeRozan was asked if one game is enough to adjust to the pressure-packed playoffs. "I dont need a whole nother playoff round to get ready for it," DeRozan said. "I watched a lot of film. I understand. Im definitely not going to make the same mistakes twice. Its adjustments." His teammates are confident theyll see the best of DeRozan in Game 2. "Hes had rough games before. . . hes fine. Im positive hell bounce back," Lowry said. "Hes really focused. Yeah, a rough shooting night. Sometimes it happens. Sometimes the ball dont go in the hole." Why so positive? "Because hes an all-star," Lowry replied. "Theres a reason hes an all-star. He averages what he averages, hes a helluva player, and hes only going to get better." The Raptors are hoping the ACC fans — dressed all in white Saturday and waving white towels, thanks to a T-shirt and towel giveaway — remain as vocal as they were in Game 1. "It was live," Amir Johnson said. "I didnt get to see outside (where hundreds of fans gathered in Maple Leaf Square) but Ive seen pictures on the Internet. It was a pretty dope crowd. "Its big. We need them. We need everybody. The whole country." Saturdays shot-clock debacle should also be behind them. American sports broadcaster ESPN caused the shot-clock malfunction in Game 1, according to a Raptors official. Toronto had to rely on announcer Herbie Kuhn to count down the 24 seconds on each possession after the clocks above the baskets died with 5:57 remaining in the third quarter. Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment took blame for using the same power source for the primary and backup shot clocks. The damaged cables in the baskets were replaced and tested Sunday, and the primary and backup clocks are no longer using the same power source. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ChinaCheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '

The following letter from commissioner Mark Cohon was sent to CFL players on Wednesday. Ashtone Morgan Toronto Jersey . May 21, 2014 Dear CFL Players: On May 15, 2014, we presented your Executive Committee with a full and comprehensive offer that unfortunately was rejected.   We believe that this offer is fair and reasonable, and we want to share its details with you. If ratified by the Players, the CFL offer would provide the following: Financial Terms - Increase the salary cap by 9% this season from $4,400,000 to $4,800,000 per team (and further increasing by $50,000 each year over the following five years to $5,050,000)- Effectively increase the average player salary up to 12% this season from $82,904 to $92,917 (and further increasing over the following five years)- Increase the minimum player salary by 11% this season from $45,000 to $50,000 (and further increasing to $55,000 over the following five years)- A further increase to the salary cap of $100,000 per team if the CFL receives more television revenue from TSN under a renegotiated broadcast agreement for each remaining year on the CBA- Maintain the $450,000 annual payment to the CFLPA for Player marketing and other rights This has been a long and difficult process for all involved.  And when it comes right down to it, we just want to play.  So, we have also offered to pay a ratification bonus of $3,000 to veteran Players and $1,000 to rookie Players (on a team roster as at June 22, 2014) if this agreement is ratified on or before June 2, 2014. Player Safety & Welfare - Immediately add two players to each teams Active Roster - Immediately restrict the number of contact practices during the regular season- Maintain 2013 CFL policy to restrict the number of contact practices during training camp- Maintain all current Player pension, medical plan and life insurance benefits- Maintain all CFL annual payments for Player counselling and rehabilitation support under the CFL-CFLPA Drug Policy   On May 20, 2014 your Executive Committee provided us with their financial proposal in response to our offer.  The CFLPAs financial proposal provides for a salary cap increase to $6.24 million in 2014, as well as approximately $240,000 per team per year in other monetary increases to pre and post-season compensation and pension plan contributions per year.  From 2015 forward, significantly more would be added to salary cap based on a revenue sharing model.  We advised the CFLPA in no uncertain terms that their proposal was not realistic, and would not form the basis for any financial settlement.  In fact, it would threaten the very existence of the CFL.  We have obviously rejected the CFLPA proposal today in negotiations, and we have told your Executive Committee that we are prepared to meet in bargaining at any time once they are prepared to discuss a fair and reasonable settlement that makes sense for both the Players and the League. Over the last five years, we have improved the foundation of our league.  However, our work in this regard is not yet complete.  Continued investment, focus and effort is required to achieve our vision of a strong, stable, and sustainable CFL.  And while we remain mindful of the additional steps we must take, we also recognize the progress, together with the Players, that we have already made.  And this progress is reflected in this offer. The CFL offer strikes an appropriate balance of, on the one hand, providing significant compensation increases and health & safety improvements to the Players while, on the other hand, creating an environment in which the League and its teams can continue to build for a strong and stable future.  It provides a fair share to the Players, and helps us to effectively manage our businesses with a view to a strong future - for everyone.  Over the last 25 years, with limited exceptions, CFL teams have either operated at a financial loss or struggled to generate even the slightest amount of profit.  There are numerous factors that contributed to this, but central among them was the unbalanced relationship between revenues and all costs.  Quite simply, the revenues being generated from the primary revenue streams of ticket sales, television, and sponsorships were insufficient to meet the essential operating requirements of the teams. Investments were needed in infrastructure (notably in stadiums and training facilities), and in modernizing our operations (i.e. developing our internet capabilities, and actively building competitive brands in our largest markets).  However, without operating profits these investments were either insufficient, or not made at all, at both the League and team levels.  A reasonable, fixed salary cap provides the foundation for a sensible business model.   The League and teams have started to invest in their own futures.  They have increased the skill and professionalism of their business leaders and staff, consistently and thoughtfully begun to strengthen their brands in their local markets, and have spent or committed $175 million in private money towards major stadium and infrastructure projects to create a modern CFL.  Instead of reverting back to the days of old - limited investment, limited growth, significant instability, and a stagnant or declining business - we have a credible opportunity to boldly look to the future.  In this new scenario, everybody ultimately wins.   If you have any questions about this offer, please speak with your teams Players Association representative or a member of your Executive Committee. I want to thank you for considering this offer. This is not an easy process. The business side of football is never as much fun as the game itself. But we all share a responsibility to ensure that our league is strong for this generation of CFL fans and those that follow. Thank you for your consideration and your dedication to our League. Mark CohonCommissionerCanadian Football League Alex Bono Toronto Jersey . According to a copy of the police report, Smith was attempting to make a turn in Kansas Citys Power & Light entertainment district when he struck the light pole about 12:30 a.m. The officer reported that Smith "appeared confused and began mumbling statements that I did not understand." Smith declined medical attention. His vehicle sustained significant damage to the front and undercarriage, and the light pole was left broken on the sidewalk. "We are aware of the situation involving Sean Smith. Whenever one of our players is involved in an incident like this it is disappointing," the Chiefs said in a statement to The Associated Press. "Wee will have no further comment at this time as this is an ongoing legal matter. Damien Perquis Toronto Shirts. " Smith was present for the teams voluntary workout Tuesday but did not speak to reporters. Along with citations for driving under the influence and careless driving, Smith was also cited for failure to provide insurance. It was not known whether he had hired a lawyer. The 26-year-old Smith was among the Chiefs significant off-season acquisitions a year ago, signing a $16.5 million, three-year contract. He started all but one game at cornerback, making 47 stops and two interceptions while helping the Chiefs go 11-5 and reach the playoffs. Smith is expected to start at cornerback again this season. The Chiefs wrap up voluntary workouts Friday and convene for a mandatory three-day minicamp next week. MIAMI -- If Tom Koehler has figured out why he and the Miami Marlins are so tough to beat at home, hes not saying. Cheap Jerseys . Koehler outpitched Josh Beckett on Friday night, and the Marlins extended their home winning streak to seven games with a 6-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. "I just know weve got a good thing going right now," Koehler said. "I dont want to jinx it by saying anything else." The Marlins 13-4 home record is the best in the majors, while their 2-10 road mark is the worst. Theyve outscored opponents 29-10 in the first four games of this homestand. Koehler is 0-2 on the road, but he has won all three of his starts in Miami, where his ERA is 0.90. He limited the Dodgers to three hits in seven scoreless innings. "Its a big team win," he said. "Its good to keep the momentum on our side while were playing at home." Jarrod Saltalamacchia homered on his 29th birthday for the Marlins, who climbed above .500. Garrett Jones had three doubles, scored and drove in a run. Giancarlo Stanton drove in a run with a two-out infield single and leads the NL with 32nd RBIs. That was plenty of support for the surprising Koehler, who began the year with a career record of 5-11, made the rotation as a fifth starter and now has an ERA of 2.41. "He pitched excellent," manager Mike Redmond said. "He was up in the zone a few times and got behind a few hitters, but he seemed to bounce back and did a great job." Beckett (0-1) struck out eight but gave up four runs in 6 2-3 innings. He fell to 0-6 in his past 13 starts and remained winless since the end of the 2012 season, even though his ERA this year is 3.14. Is the victory drought frustrating? "If youve got an arbitration case, yeah," Beckett said. "But Im past that point. I want the team to get the victory. I dont care who gets the win. For me, if the team wins, Im happy." The Dodgers arrived in Miami at 6:30 a.m. after playing for more than 8 hours Thursday at Minnesota to earn their first doubleheader sweep in 12 years, and they looked travel-logged while falling behind 6-0. "I watched both those games," said Beckett, who flew to Miami a day ahead of his teammates. "I was pretty much the only guy that got any sleep last night. The guys played really hard behind me. It wasnt a perfect situation for them." Saltalamacchia hit his sixth homer in the second inning against Beckett, his former battery mate when both played for the Boston Red Sox. "Obviously, Ive seen Josh a little bit," Saltalamacchia said. "He looked good. I remember him throwing a lot more fastballs when I caught him. Tonight he was mixing his curve in a lot, and it made hitters look off balance." Jones hit a two-out RBI double that deflected off the glove of a retreating Yasiel Puig in right field to make it 2-0 in the fourth. The Marlins scored four times with two out in the seventh, with the first run scoring on a single by Reed Johnson, his fifth pinch hit this season. Christian Yelich followed with an RBI triple, and Stanton and Casey McGehee hit RBI singles. The game was Becketts second against the Marlins, who made him the No. 2 overall pick in the 1999 amateur draft. Los Angeles Dee Gordon had three hits, scored and drove in a run. The major-league stolen-base leader was thrown out for only the second time this year but also stole his 16th base. NOTES: The temperature with the roof closed was 77. It was 45 for the first pitch Thursday when the Dodgers played at Minnesota. ... Dodgers SS Juan Uribe was given the night off. ... Two calls by second-base umpire C.B.
